StepStones for Safety® was founded by two experienced safety culture consultants: Anne-Marie Vanhooren and Willy Wastyn.
Together with a team of staff and specialists, we guide organizations step by step toward a strong safety culture.
Anne-Marie Vanhooren
My passion lies in supporting organizations to strengthen their safety culture, with a strong focus on the human side of safety. Guided by my belief that “caring for each other” is the foundation of sustainable safety, I coach and advise leaders and teams to truly bring safety to life in their daily practice.
Values such as loyalty, trust, and respect always form the cornerstone of my work.
Entrepreneurial, goal-oriented, empathetic, and pragmatic are qualities that define me.
Willy Wastyn
My passion is strengthening the human side of occupational safety: the behaviors, habits, and underlying culture that truly determine how safely people act on the work floor.
I develop innovative concepts, powerful models, and publications that offer a fresh, forward-looking perspective on safety. In addition, I design development programs that are ahead of their time, helping leaders anchor safety in a tangible, people-centered, and sustainable way.
Driven by curiosity and craftsmanship, I constantly seek the balance between clear thinking and practical action.
Values such as respect, authenticity, and responsibility guide my work. Analytical, creative, strategic, and always focused on real behavioral change—these are the qualities that define me.
